Location: On-site 2-3 days a week in Helena, AL
Top Skilss: Cisco Routers & Switches, Cisco Meraki, OSPF routing protocol experience, & experience building out networks
Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Network Engineer with 8 years of experience. You will provide aspects of planning, implementation a support for our client's infrastructure and computer systems.
What you'll do:
- The role includes supporting the organizations network and server infrastructure ensuring connectivity for all employees and all locations.
- Initiates and fosters partnerships with key stake holders to better understand the primary objectives of the business unit to pro-actively improve upon or develop new solutions through technology.
- Work as part of the IT Operations Department with regular interaction with Developers, other IT Engineers and the IT Help Desk as needed for troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Leadership role in the planning and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans and exercises.
- Follow best practices for logical and physical security to continually improve the company's security posture.
- Monitor and support all network equipment ensuring current code levels are maintained.
Skills needed for success:
- 8+ years experience as a network engineer implementing and supporting large enterprise networks
- Hands on experience installing and supporting enterprise routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Hands on experience installing and supporting virtualized environments supporting Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
- Experience installing and Supporting SDWAN Technologies and supporting network storage equipment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak on varying technical levels.
- Self-starter who can work independently on complex IT projects.
- Experience installing and configuring Firewalls.
- Experience installing and maintaining Network Monitoring and Alerting Products.
- Experience deploying and maintaining secure wireless network configurations.
