POSITION SUMMARY:
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the physical security and safety of all bank branches, employees, and visitors. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the physical security and safety of all bank branches, employees, and visitors. This position plays a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Bank's security policies and procedures. The Security Officer also monitors compliance with security protocols, provides training to staff, and regularly reports on the Bank's overall security posture to the Board of Directors. This role requires a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation to safeguard the Bank's people, property, and assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of physical security across the Bank's branch network.
- Develop, implement, and update security policies, procedures, and protocols to reduce security risks.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure security systems (alarms, surveillance cameras, access controls, etc.) are operational and effective.
- Investigate and document all security incidents or breaches, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide ongoing training and education to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and workplace security awareness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related issues, both internally and with law enforcement or emergency response teams.
- Lead the Bank's response to emergencies involving security threats, including lockdowns, evacuations, or law enforcement involvement.
- Collaborate with Facilities, IT, Compliance, and other departments to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
- Maintain awareness of evolving threats, including fraud, theft, and physical violence, and adapt procedures accordingly. Managing relationship with Bank First's selected security vendor/contractor and seeking proposals when contract terms are due for renewal.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a security-related role, preferably in the financial services industry or law enforcement.
- Strong knowledge of physical security systems, emergency response protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Certification in security (e.g., CPP, PSP) is a plus.
