Job Title: Senior Java Developer (Kafka)
Location: Saint Louis, MO (Relocation is fine)
Duration: 12 + Months
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on Apache Kafka to join our growing team in Saint Louis, Missouri. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in stream processing and message-driven architectures, as well as a deep understanding of Kafka platform metrics and observability. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance, scalable systems while adhering to best practices in modern software development.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in real-world applications, including building and managing stream processing architectures.
- Proficient in at least three programming languages such as Java, .NET, JavaScript, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of SSL/TLS, certificates, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices and cloud-first software development methodologies.
- Solid experience working with API management, service adoption, and effort estimation to ensure effective API consumption.
- Expertise in modern Agile practices, Scrum/Kanban, Continuous Delivery, DevOps, and Quality Engineering.
- Proficiency in defining and estimating non-functional requirements related to security, performance, and regulatory standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
