Location: Hybrid within footprint preferred, open to remote if based out of footprint.

OVERVIEW:

Strategic and results-driven analytics leader to oversee and execute advanced analytics that drive business decisions within consumer marketing. This role will be responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights and developing impactful business recommendations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct, review and approve complex data manipulation and analysis with common programming languages. Consolidate results for business consumption and create recommendations for business decisions.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to understand marketing impact and quantify business problems by leveraging statistical methods.
  • Modify data warehouses as necessary; document and store code to enable higher speed to impact.
  • Develop simple visualizations to explain data. Consolidate exhibits and supporting materials for sharing analysis results with senior business leaders.
  • Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years related experience
  • Minimum of 2 years managerial, supervisory and/or work leadership experience
  • Experience managing and analyzing large data sets and explaining results of analysis through concise written and verbal communication as well as charts/graphs
  • Familiarity with common programming languages
  • Experience working in large databases

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
  • 8 or more years related work experience in data analysis
  • Expert skills in SQL
  • Experience working with statistical analysis software: SAS, R, or Python
  • Experience large datasets and databases
  • Experience working within an agile environment
  • Experience in mortgage lending and financial services, analyzing large and complex data sets, data reliability analysis, quality controls and data processing
  • Understanding risk management practices and/or procedures
  • Experience statistical hypotheses testing and knowledge of modeling techniques
  • Experience with risk analytics for credit portfolio wholesale stress testing, and/or credit risk modelling

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $127,274.43 - $212,124.05 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
