Project Manager

As a Project Manager within the PMO, you ll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of projects, encompassing the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure. You will be responsible for meticulously planning, diligently executing, and effectively closing projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within the defined scope and allocated budget. A key aspect of this role involves the proactive management of resources, the identification and mitigation of risks, and the skillful navigation of stakeholder expectations. Beyond traditional project management responsibilities, the Project Manager will also be instrumental in managing the product backlog, collaborating on the definition and breakdown of work into epics, features, and user stories, and proactively addressing and controlling scope creep. This strategic role necessitates seamless coordination across diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and contribute directly to the organization's overarching goals. The Project Manager is a critical driver of project success and a key contributor to delivering tangible value to the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project planning and initiation: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in close collaboration with stakeholders, and translate these into detailed and actionable project plans. This includes contributing to the definition of epics, features, and user stories within the product backlog.
Product Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder needs.
Working with Epics, Features, and Stories: Collaborate with relevant teams to break down high-level requirements into manageable epics, features, and user stories, ensuring clear understanding and traceability.
Resource management: Strategically allocate and effectively manage project resources to ensure optimal project execution and success.
Budget management: Develop, monitor, and manage comprehensive project budgets, ensuring financial resources are utilized efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with organizational guidelines.
Risk management: Proactively identify potential project risks, conduct thorough risk assessments, and develop robust mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
Stakeholder communication: Establish and maintain regular, transparent communication channels with all project stakeholders, providing timely project updates, actively soliciting feedback, and ensuring consistent alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Project execution: Diligently oversee all project activities, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while also guiding the development team based on the prioritized product backlog.
Issue resolution: Promptly identify, analyze, and resolve project issues and roadblocks to maintain project momentum and ensure timely completion.
Performance monitoring: Continuously track and analyze project progress against established goals and key performance indicators, proactively adjusting plans and strategies as necessary to ensure the achievement of project objectives.
Project documentation: Maintain meticulous and comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, risk logs, communication records, and backlog management artifacts.
Continuous improvement: Conduct thorough post-project reviews to identify valuable lessons learned and best practices, and actively apply these insights to future projects to continuously enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and delivery outcomes.
Scope Creep Management: Proactively identify and manage potential scope changes, assessing their impact on project timelines, budgets, and resources, and implementing appropriate change control processes.
