Job Title: Enterprise Architect

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Experience Level: 10 - 15 Years

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Architect to lead the strategic technical vision and define the architectural roadmap for our organization. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution, acting as a domain-specific subject matter expert. You will be responsible for establishing near-term (0-18 months) and long-term (18-60 months) technology strategies, ensuring all solutions align with enterprise standards.

You will play a pivotal role in modernizing our application landscape, leveraging your deep expertise in J2EE, TIBCO, Informatica, and SOA integration patterns to build scalable, robust, and future-ready systems.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Architecture & Roadmapping

  • Define Strategy: Develop and maintain domain-specific technology strategies and roadmaps for both near-term (0-18 months) and mid-to-long-term (18-60 months) horizons.

  • Establish Standards: Create and enforce enterprise architectural standards, policies, and design patterns to ensure consistency and interoperability across the IT landscape.

  • Future State Vision: Collaborate with leadership to define the "to-be" architecture state and guide the organization through the transition from current legacy systems.

Technical Leadership & Implementation

  • Solution Design: Provide architectural direction for complex integration projects involving SOA, ESB, and Microservices, ensuring high availability and transaction management.

  • Integration Architecture: Architect high-volume integration solutions using TIBCO (ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks, EMS) and Web Services (REST/SOAP).

  • Data Architecture: Oversee data integration and quality strategies using the Informatica suite (PowerCenter, IDQ), defining ETL standards and data models.

  • Application Server Management: Guide the deployment, tuning, and administration strategies for J2EE application servers and containers (e.g., WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, Spring Boot).

Governance & Collaboration

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the primary domain expert for application integration and middleware technologies.

  • Stakeholder Management: Interface with business leaders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural blueprints.

  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring adherence to defined architecture and coding standards.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Total Experience: 10 15 years of relevant industry experience.

  • IS/Engineering Background: 8+ years of hands-on experience in Information Systems, Programming, Software Engineering, or Systems Analysis.

  • Middleware & Containers: 4+ years of strong experience in deployment and administration of J2EE application servers (e.g., WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat) and frameworks (Spring, Hibernate).

  • Integration Tools: 4+ years of specialized experience with TIBCO suite (BusinessWorks, EMS) and Informatica suite (PowerCenter, IDQ).

  • Architecture Patterns: 4+ years of experience with SOA, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), JMS Messaging, Transaction Management, XML, and Web Services.

Technical Skills

  • Integration: TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks, TIBCO EMS, API Management.

  • Data Tools: Informatica PowerCenter (ETL), Informatica Data Quality (IDQ).

  • Databases: Strong knowledge of SQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications:

    • TIBCO Certified Architect (e.g., TCP-BW6, TCP-EMS8).

    • Informatica Certified Professional (PowerCenter or Data Quality).

    • Enterprise Architecture certifications such as TOGAF or Zachman.

  • Soft Skills: Proven ability to negotiate with stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
