The Manager of IT Applications works with supervision from the IT Director in performing a variety of administrative, technical, project management, release management and supervisory work in the Information Technology organization. Oversees assigned applications which may include ERP, EPIC and Ancillary Applications. The manager will provide leadership to the team and collaborate across departmental boundaries to ensure IT goals are met on time and within budget. Manages team members and addresses any conflicts or grievances in a timely manner with support from the IT Director. Excellence in project management, release management, customer service and superior teamwork skills are essential. Serves as a resource to team members and assists in troubleshooting, mentoring, and escalation of issues as required.
This role provides delivery-focused leadership for the Business Intelligence team and requires a balance of people leadership, operational management, and technical understanding. The manager will:
- Oversee analytics delivery and proactively remove roadblocks to maintain timelines
- Manage workload balancing, prioritization, and stakeholder expectations
- Provide technical guidance and maintain working knowledge of Epic Cogito, SQL, and data pipelines to support sound decision-making
- Collaborate with developers on solution direction, code review, and troubleshooting when needed
- Foster a team culture of communication, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Mentor team members and support career growth and skill development
- Drive alignment across BI, Epic Applications, PMO, and operational leaders
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS Required: 5 years of experience working in the assigned application as well as technical proficiency.
Required: 2 years of supervisory experience.
Note: Epic Certification is required for Epic positions.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred: Master's Degree.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Extensive working knowledge of healthcare and ERP systems.
Ability to conceptualize and analyze complex issues.
Strong leadership skills achieving results through others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers and supervisors.
Ability to be receptive to differing ideas and embrace change.
Verbal and written communications are clear, concise and accurate; uses positive non-verbal communication effectively.
Ability to work independently and manage time well.
Ability to direct a variety of projects in addition to an understanding of the ways in which information technology is applied within the enterprise.
Ability to maintain assigned programs and systems.
Ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
Able to apply job knowledge to develop policies and procedures and improve work processes.
Epic or other certification required where appropriate.
This is not a full-time development role, but the manager is expected to engage at a technical level as needed while ensuring overall team execution and strategic alignment.
