Contract to Hire Role

Our client is seeking a Mainframe Application Support Engineer to join our Treasury Applications team. You ll support COBOL-based payment systems (ACH/PEP+ and ARP/SMS) and manage secure file transmissions in a high-volume, mission-critical environment.

  • Support and enhance COBOL mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, CA7, VSAM, DB2, MQ).

  • Monitor and troubleshoot payment processing systems with 24/7 rotational support.

  • Manage secure file transfers (Connect:Direct, SFTP, IBM Sterling).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions, improve efficiency, and resolve recurring issues.

  • Participate in production releases, client onboarding, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

  • 5+ years of mainframe development/support experience.

  • Strong COBOL, JCL, CA7, DB2, MQ, and IBM utilities background.

  • Experience with file transmission tools/protocols (Connect:Direct, SFTP, IBM Sterling).

  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and payments/high-transaction systems.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and multitasking skills.

  • ACH processing, file creation/transmission.

  • Experience with PEP+ and ARP/SMS.

  • ServiceNow, ITIL certification, or monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, MainView).
