RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our centralized CPE Software Services Automation team in Greenwood Village, CO. This role focuses on the development of software automation to support testing at all levels - from development through performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python, test automation frameworks, and networking protocols. This is a hands-on development role with a focus on increasing test coverage and reducing manual intervention across complex software systems.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and tools using Python
* Implement automation for dev testing, integration testing, and performance testing
* Develop and execute automated test scripts using Robot Framework (flexible on years of experience)
* Collaborate closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to integrate automation into the CI/CD pipeline
* Analyze and troubleshoot test failures using networking tools and packet captures
* Write reusable, maintainable, and efficient test scripts that reflect real-world customer scenarios
* Contribute to test planning and provide feedback on feature design from a testability standpoint
* Drive continuous improvements in test coverage, speed, and reliability of automation suites
REQUIREMENTS:
* 4+ years of hands-on experience with Python, including strong understanding of syntax, logic, and best practices
* 1-2 years of experience with Robot Framework (flexible based on skillset)
* Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN, and network traffic analysis
* Experience working with packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark) for debugging and verification
* Ability to understand software architecture and develop robust automation around it
* Familiarity with CI/CD processes, source control (Git), and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
Preferred Skills
* Experience with OpenWRT or other embedded Linux-based firmware platforms
* Exposure to WiFi protocols and performance testing of wireless networks
* Background in CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) or telecom environments
* Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and test data management
* Solid documentation skills for maintaining automation suites and usage guidelines
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
