We are looking for motivated contributors who enjoy working on revolutionary products and aspiring to make them better through creation and execution of comprehensive test suites, identification of potential failure modes, and collaboration with design teams to drive product improvements.The position is on Apple's innovative Mac Reliability Engineering team, where we collaborate with hardware development and Silicon packaging team. You will be leading the board level package integration reliability on new Mac Apple SoC package and similar technologies, development of new test procedures to quantify the reliability of a design, and failure analysis resulting from these tests.Come join our team!

Key Qualifications

Knowledge of Semiconductor package integration, SLI (Second level Interconnect) reliability, Bonding materials, Warpage control. Experience performing board level reliability testing including Mechanical Stress Tests, Shock/Drop/Vibration Testing, Environmental TestingFailure Analysis analytical techniques (Optical Microscopy, X-Ray, CSAM, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XPS etc)Ability to use fundamental failure analysis methodology to derive a root cause of failureKnowledge of failure modes and statistical life data analysis using curve fitting and distributions models.Knowledge of industry test Standards (JEDEC, ASTM, IEEE)Application of DOE (design of Experiments)Application of FMEA (Failure Modes an Effects Analysis)Exceptional problem solving abilitiesStrong attention to detailAbility to manage numerous projects at the same time

Preparing concise and detailed test plans and test reportsDevelopment of new reliability tests procedures and specificationsStatistical data analysis to provide risk assessments of a designResearching a technology to determine possible failure modesProviding design recommendations to improve product reliability when necessaryInteracting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results

Education & Experience

MS or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field desired
