As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide entry-level technical support for desktop and laptop systems, including hardware, software, and peripheral components. You'll work under close supervision to resolve user issues, perform installations, and maintain IT assets. This role requires strong communication skills, a customer-first mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

About the Role
As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide entry-level technical support for desktop and laptop systems, including hardware, software, and peripheral components. You'll work under close supervision to resolve user issues, perform installations, and maintain IT assets. Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 support and assist with Tier 2 support as needed.
- Respond to user requests and resolve routine technical issues related to information and voice systems.
- Coordinate and escalate technical questions appropriately.
- Document user interactions and update status in the Help Desk system.
- Maintain effective communication with end-users throughout the lifecycle of support requests.
- Install and configure software, hardware, and peripheral devices.
- Create application packages for streamlined deployment.
- Track and manage desktop hardware and peripherals in the asset management system.
- Assist with installation and configuration of telecommunications and server hardware.
- Maintain physical and logical security accounts for assigned systems.
- Monitor and resolve basic issues related to systems, networks, and security.
- Perform entry-level troubleshooting and remediation.
- Develop clear and concise procedural documentation.
- Provide basic training to users on new software and tools.
- Relocate technical equipment as needed.
- Experience: 2+ years of related technical support experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Skills:
- Basic computer proficiency and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Required: A+ (within 6 months of hire), MCP (within 12 months of hire).
- Preferred: Network+, MCDST, HDI.
