The Amazon Connectivity team designs connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices encompassing wide range of products including the Echo and Fire TV family of devices.

This position is for a seasoned Senior Software Development Engineer in the Wi-Fi SW connectivity organization. You can be part of a fast-paced, agile and innovative team who is bringing new connectivity experiences to the exciting range of devices in a startup like environment.

Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver high-performance, low-power, stable connectivity platform for world class consumer products. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will:

- Design, develop and enhance Wi-Fi and networking software for Amazon's consumer products;
- Optimize Wi-Fi and network performance and power consumption for connectivity platforms;
- Engage with vendors to integrate Wi-Fi chipset solutions;
- Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features on top of Wi-Fi for next-gen Amazon products;
- Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to trouble shoot customer issues;
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 4+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in delivering Wi-Fi based products
- 3+ years of experience and knowledge on IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocols such as Wi-Fi Direct, WPA, 802.11ac/ax, and etc.
- 3+ years of experience in Wi-Fi development and debugging tools such as protocol analyzer
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Have prior experience with Wi-Fi solutions from one or more major Wifi chipset vendors
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common network protocols such as DHCP, DNS, HTTP, LAN/WAN and etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
