Job Title: Junior Network Security Engineer (or analyst)

Job Location : Wilmington DE

Duration :6-month likely extension

Location: Wilmington, DE (5 days onsite)

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Network Security Engineer to support the implementation of traffic visibility and packet inspection solutions for a major financial services client. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their skills while working alongside senior engineers and architects on cloud and on-premise infrastructure security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the deployment and configuration of network visibility tools (TAPs, packet brokers, etc.).

Assist with exporting traffic data from security appliances (e.g., Palo Alto) to cloud storage platforms such as AWS S3.

Help configure tools like Corelight and Zscaler for monitoring and traffic logging.

Participate in implementing decryption strategies and visibility pipelines under senior guidance.

Work collaboratively with architecture and security teams to apply policy enforcement aligned with SASE principles.

Assist with documentation, issue tracking, and coordination with internal teams and OEMs.

Required Qualifications:

3 4+ years' experience in network security or network engineering roles.

Exposure to:

o Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access or equivalent platforms.

o Zscaler or similar cloud-based traffic inspection tools.

o TAPs, SPAN ports, or packet brokers (Gigamon, Corelight, or alternatives).

Understanding basic packet inspection, network flow, or decryption fundamentals.

Exposure to hybrid environments (cloud and on-prem).

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Network detection and response tools. (Corelight, CrowdStrike, ExtraHop, etc.)

Nice to Have:

Experience with Corelight or other packet broker technologies.

Familiarity with cloud-native visibility or security solutions in AWS or Azure.

Certifications such as PCNSA, ZCCA-IA, or in progress toward PCNSE/CISSP.
