- Contract Duration: 9 months
- Worksite Location: Wyoming, MN or Novi, MI
- Compensation: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour
What you ll do as an Embedded System Validation Engineer:
- Plan and execute embedded system validation activities for ECU hardware and software integration
- Collaborate with control systems engineers to align on test development and validation timelines
- Review ECU software requirements and design test cases that validate functionality and performance
- Develop and run test scripts, analyze results, and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Build custom test harnesses and load banks to simulate vehicle environments and components
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, and wiring issues related to ECU validation
- Coordinate multiple ECU validation schedules and projects concurrently
- Support hardware validation activities with suppliers or test labs
- Contribute to software tool development for automation and testing efficiency
- Participate in Functional Safety discussions, HARA/DFMEA reviews, and system improvement planning
What you ll bring to the Embedded System Validation Engineer role:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or Software preferred); candidates with degrees in Computer Science, Physics, or Math will be considered with relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience in embedded control system development or validation
- Understanding of automotive control systems such as powertrain, chassis, suspension, or body electronics
- Proficiency in automated test development and programming
- Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols and the ability to diagnose test hardware using scopes and multimeters
- Experience with Python, real-time HIL systems, and test platforms like dSPACE, ETAS, or NI preferred
- Knowledge of CAN, J1939, UDS, OBD2 standards, MATLAB/Simulink, and real-time plant modeling a plus
- Experience with ECU measurement/calibration (CCP/XCP), Git, command-line tools, and lifecycle management systems such as PTC Integrity or Windchill is desirable
