Job Description:
We are seeking a Technical Lead to oversee and guide the development and management of retail applications (Store Systems and OMS). The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, capable of working independently, navigating complex stakeholder environments, and moving projects forward with minimal supervision. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can engage with both business and technical teams, drive solutions, and escalate issues only when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Lead the technical vision, design, and implementation Retail applications to meet business goals. Act as the subject matter expert and ensure that best practices are followed.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business teams, product owners, and other technical teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and drive the technical execution of projects. Maintain clear communication to understand their needs and manage expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other technical teams (e.g., infrastructure, security, DevOps) to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the retail applications.
Problem-Solving: Act as the primary problem solver, proactively identifying bottlenecks and coming up with effective solutions to drive continuous improvement. Escalate only when necessary.
Innovation and Optimization: Lead initiatives to improve application performance, scalability, and overall system reliability. Keep abreast of emerging technologies to improve chatbot capabilities, marketing automation, and service efficiency.
Project Management: Take ownership of projects, ensuring that timelines are met and deliverables are achieved without compromising quality. Use agile methodologies where appropriate to drive iterative improvements.
Escalation Management: Step in when projects face significant roadblocks but only escalate critical issues that cannot be resolved independently.
Documentation & Standards: Ensure proper documentation of all systems, solutions, and processes. Adhere to established standards and best practices for software development and infrastructure management.
Mandatory:
- 8+ years of experience in retail applications, software development, or technical leadership roles.
- Proven experience in leading Store applications like POS, etc. with onsite and offshore teams.
- Should be experienced in cloud services (preferably AWS), event driven architecture, asynchronous data processing.
- Should have a very good domain knowledge of the entire OMS, Store and ERP workflows. Good understanding of the life cycle of order / fulfillments at Store for various omni channel fulfillments, inventory management and its lifecycle including PO's, ASNs, Receipts, Transfers, RTVs etc.
- Good knowledge in Microservices Architecture and various design patterns. Should have the capability to provide solutions in this paradigm for various pain points that the customer might put across.
- Excellent knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps, and system architecture principles.
- Strong knowledge in any of the programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) and frameworks commonly used in Retail applications.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguous situations, and deliver results with little to no supervision.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
