Business-minded Power BI / Microsoft Fabric Data Analyst with a strong finance background who can deliver immediate financial reporting (e.g., real-time AR aging) and maintain SQL-driven feeds into our new Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse. The role combines deep Power BI, T-SQL and practical data-science skills with finance acumen to transform raw data into actionable insight and accelerate our migration to a modern data-warehouse framework.
Qualifications:
- Education / Experience Business-finance degree (or equivalent) + 3-5 yrs in data analysis or reporting.
- T-SQL (3-5 yrs) complex queries, PIVOT, cursors, stored procedures.
- Power BI expertise dataset & workspace governance, advanced visuals, DAX mastery (time-intelligence, aggregations).
- Fabric / Data-warehouse exposure Lakehouse tables, Warehouse views, Data Factory pipelines, Direct Lake mode (preferred).
- ETL & data-quality controls incremental loads, closed-period logic.
Essential Functions:
- Understand business operations & KPIs; translate finance questions (month-end close, budgeting, forecasting) into data requirements.
- Develop Fabric Lakehouse / Warehouse models and star schemas linking financial facts to time, customer and product dimensions.
- Author Data Factory / Fabric Dataflow pipelines for automated, incremental loads feeding Power BI.
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards with advanced DAX measures for real-time insight (AR aging, revenue trends).
- Apply practical statistics (variance, trend analysis) and math ops (averages, ratios) to highlight risk/opportunity.
- Write, tune and document T-SQL objects that supply downstream financial systems and the Fabric Warehouse.
- Partner with stakeholders to present findings in clear business language and recommend actions.
- Ensure governance & data quality document lineage, enforce OneLake naming/security, and follow SOX/PCI requirements.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Business Knowledge / Acumen deep understanding of financial operations, KPIs & reporting cycles (AR, budgeting).
- Relational Data Skills proven star-schema modelling in Power BI / Fabric.
- Data-Science Skills apply math & statistics in DAX; forecast & detect variance drivers.
- Traits analytical, collaborative, business-focused, detail-oriented; able to maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
