Job Description:

  • Work with the workstream lead for the incremental migration of 100+ legacy applications to a modern Node.js (TypeScript) backend and React frontend.
  • Design and implement modular services to "strangle" legacy components, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate with architects to define migration roadmaps, prioritize high-impact modules, and maintain HIPAA compliance

Frontend Development:

  • Modernize user interfaces with React, ensuring accessibility and compliance with healthcare UX standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Collaborate with designers to translate complex healthcare workflows into intuitive, patient-centric interfaces.
  • Implement state management (Redux, Context API) and optimize frontend performance for high-traffic scenarios.

Backend Modernization:

  • Build scalable, secure APIs and microservices with Node.js and TypeScript, prioritizing performance for healthcare workflows.
  • Integrate with EHR/EMR systems, pharmacy networks, and third-party healthcare APIs.
  • Optimize Azure cloud resources (Blob Storage) for HIPAA-compliant data handling

Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Work with QA teams to ensure applications meet healthcare regulatory standards (HIPAA, HITRUST).
  • Partner with DevOps to automate CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and monitor production systems.
  • Document modernization progress and provide training for teams adopting new tools.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with NestJS for structuring enterprise-grade backend services.
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or C# to maintain/refactor legacy components during migration.
  • Knowledge of Azure healthcare tools (Azure API for FHIR, Health Data Services).
  • Exposure to healthcare-specific protocols (HL7, FHIR) or prior authorization workflows.
