Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Cisco technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide mentorship, advanced technical support, and leadership in network operations, including switch and router lifecycle management, wireless LAN solutions, and operational issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute switch and router lifecycle processes, including replacements and new builds at various locations.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for network issues, including wireless LAN performance, printer connectivity, and camera functionality.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, enhancing their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in the improvement of wireless coverage and network performance.
  • Perform upgrades and maintenance on network management tools such as Cisco ISE, TSNA (BMC software), and SolarWinds.
  • Conduct RF propagation mapping and wireless site surveys using tools like Ekahau or Air Magnet.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network-related projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Mid-level Network Engineer
  • CCNA or CCNP certification (desired)
  • Strong experience with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers.
  • Proficiency in OSPF routing protocols.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE and SolarWinds.
  • Familiarity with RF propagation mapping tools (e.g., Ekahau).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work onsite in Des Moines, IA, with occasional travel to other locations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with wide area network (WAN) routing.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
