Systems Operations Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Systems Operations Engineer with our client in the financial Industry located in Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX and Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract position.

• Provide production support for SMTP email infrastructure in a large corporate environment
• Maintain availability and performance of on-premise systems such as Proofpoint Sentrions (migrating to Proofpoint Cloudmark), Zix/Zixport, Proofpoint on Demand (POD), PPS, FireEye, SER, Microsoft Defender, and application channels
• Leverage monitoring and observability tools (Nagios, Thousand Eyes, Grafana, bash scripts) to ensure uptime and detect issues
• Conduct analysis and troubleshooting using Splunk logs, reports, queries, and dashboards
• Implement secure email practices such as opportunistic and enforced TLS, SPF, DKIM signing, and DMARC authentication
• Develop and support scripts in Linux/UNIX environments
• Collaborate with teams including Messaging Backbone Engineering, Client Services, Networking, DNS, DLP, Firewall, and Exchange

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture, or equivalent through work, consulting, military experience, or education
• 4+ years of experience with Sendmail or Postfix configuration
• 2+ years of experience with secure email products (e.g., Zix, TLS)
• 1+ year of Splunk experience
• 1+ year of Linux/UNIX scripting experience
• Experience determining root cause of issues and handling incidents
• Familiarity with technology monitoring and event analytics tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills verbal, written, and interpersonal
• Experience with ServiceNow, Agile Kanban, and Jira
• Understanding of corporate policy and regulatory compliance in IT environments

Pay Range: $ 37 - 47
