Position: Electrical Engineering Drafting Technician
Location: LA, CA
Duration: 6+ Months
Key Responsibilities
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Conduct field surveys of communications infrastructure.
- Use GPS equipment to record infrastructure coordinates.
- Interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Draw sketches and create detailed drawings, including:
- Maps, site plans, symbols, floor plans
- Wiring and system diagrams, elevations, isometrics, schematics
- Presentation layouts
- Prepare professionally-acceptable drawing packages.
- Review, revise, and plot drawings.
- Take, label, and organize photographs.
- Prepare estimates for projects.
- Organize and manage drawing files.
- Revise drawing file names as required.
- Assist in technical write-ups.
- Perform related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass an onsite CADD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) test.
- Valid California driver s license.
- Successfully pass background checks.
- Education & Experience:
- Two years of college in engineering or telecommunications plus two years of multi-disciplinary drafting experience or
- Four years of multi-disciplinary drafting experience.
- Drafting certificates may substitute for one year of experience (case-by-case).
- Clear and concise English communication.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD 2023 or greater / AutoCAD Map.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and symbols.
- Physically fit: good eyesight, hearing, and ability to walk 2 miles.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment.
- Own personal protective equipment (PPE) including boots, gloves, and safety goggles.
Working Conditions
- Work locations: LAX and VNY airports.
- Combination of office work and on-site surveying of airport facilities.
- Some driving may be required.
- Must pay for monthly parking permit.
- Exposure to:
- Airplanes and moving vehicles
- Noise and electrical panels
- Moving conveyors, mechanical, and construction equipment
