Project Manager - Large-Scale IT Implementations
Location: Austin, TX - On-Site
Duration: 10+ months
Position Overview
We re looking for a seasoned Project Manager to take ownership of enterprise-level IT initiatives. This role calls for someone who can plan, budget, oversee, and document every aspect of complex, multi-million-dollar projects. You ll serve as the bridge between technical teams, business sponsors, and stakeholders making sure requirements are understood, deliverables stay on track, and risks are identified and mitigated.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a proven record of leading large implementations from start to finish. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
Key Responsibilities

Manage large, cross-organizational IT projects through the full SDLC, from planning to implementation.

Develop and maintain project plans, documenting risks, issues, and contingency strategies.

Lead stakeholder engagement, ensuring business requirements are translated into technical specifications.

Track development progress under Agile methodology, including sprint planning and feature-driven delivery.

Provide concise weekly status updates, escalate issues appropriately, and facilitate project team meetings.

Oversee multi-million-dollar budgets, project schedules, and vendor activities to ensure timely delivery.

Mentor team members, foster collaboration, and maintain strong sponsor and stakeholder relationships.

Produce high-quality project documentation and deliverables for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Candidate Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

10+ years managing enterprise IT projects, including multi-million-dollar budgets and system implementations.

Proven ability to analyze complex problems, devise solutions, and prepare concise reports.

Strong background overseeing SDLC deliverables and guiding requirements through technical delivery.

Demonstrated success developing project plans, risk logs, contingency plans, and executive reporting.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels.

8+ years managing Agile projects, including sprint oversight and tracking development progress.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; thrives in fast-paced, collaborative settings.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing Agile best practices for a Texas State Agency.

Prior work in healthcare or public health.

PMP Certification (required) and/or Scrum Master certification.
