Description
The central IT group is looking for a desktop support individual to serve as an information technology generalist responsible for providing broad range of user support services to a department, including network troubleshooting, training, and computer desktop support.
Position Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support in a moderately complex computing environment, assisting users with network troubleshooting, software installation, and desktop support. You will help manage accounts, perform system backups, and ensure smooth operation of IT services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver customer support services, including installation, consultation, troubleshooting, user assistance, and training.
  • Resolve routine to moderately complex end-user issues efficiently, following established protocols and escalating when necessary.
  • Provide guidance and explain policies and procedures to end-users.
  • Install and configure software to support network connectivity, backups, and server access.
  • Maintain departmental computing environments, ensuring hardware and software are updated and functioning properly.
  • Respond to emergency and routine IT service calls, documenting all reported issues and resolutions.
  • Support clients with training on desktop equipment and systems.
  • Work collaboratively with IT teams to integrate network and software solutions.
  • Train other support technicians and contribute to IT projects.
  • Keep up-to-date with current technologies and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:
    • Four years of experience with an associate degree OR
    • Two years of experience with a bachelor's degree.
  • Advanced proficiency with Mac OS and Windows OS.
  • Knowledge of at least one coding language.
  • Proficiency in supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing Apple and PC hardware as well as iOS devices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience facilitating group training, both in person and online.
  • Familiarity with managing active directory accounts and group policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and implement computing solutions for departments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
