Title: Tools Specialist
Location: Hazelwood, Missouri | Onsite
Duration: 6-12+ Months
Job Description:
- Performs required tool set up, maintenance, inspection and repairs.
- Manufactures assembly tools using appropriate precision tools and machinery.
- Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required.
- Uses appropriate precision equipment to build, maintain and inspect tools.
- Provides tooling support to other organizations.
- Rigs and lifts using overhead cranes.
- Moves materials with powered industrial trucks.
- Works at heights using fall protection.
- Designs various fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings to enable tool fabrication using computer or paper tool design processes.
- Demonstrates functionality of fabrication and assembly tools to approving authority by manufacturing first part with new tool.
- Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies.
Position Responsibilities:
- Works with technical counterparts and others to develop solutions to complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling).
- Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation. Makes major repairs. Manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using various manual and computer-controlled machines, hand tools and precision alignment equipment.
- Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required.
- Provides tooling support to other organizations.
- Designs various part fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings or customer requests to enable production using computer or paper tool design processes.
- Identifies problems and coordinates follow up communications with support organizations for problem resolution. Reverse engineers designs and fabrication processes for parts.
- Demonstrates functionality of complex fabrication and assembly tools to approving authority by manufacturing first part with new tool. Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies.
- Works under general direction.
- Mentors less experienced employees in resolving issues and completing job responsibilities of a complex nature
