axiUm Dental Software Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Lead implementation, configuration, and optimization of axiUm in academic and clinical settings.
• Customize and support modules including:
• Clinical documentation
• Patient scheduling
• Electronic billing and claims
• Insurance management
• Treatment planning
• Financial reporting (A/R, ERA, statements)
• Create and maintain custom workflows tailored to dental education programs.
• Conduct data migrations, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and training sessions.
• Collaborate with IT, dental faculty, and administrators to identify pain points and recommend solutions.
• Work closely with Exan (vendor) and internal stakeholders for system upgrades and issue resolution.
• Develop technical documentation and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Provide post-go-live support, including troubleshooting and enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with axiUm (Exan) in higher education or dental organizations.
• Strong understanding of academic clinic operations and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
• Experience in:
• axiUm configuration/customization
• SQL reporting and data extracts
• ERA setup and insurance claim workflows
• Dental coding (CDT codes) and billing cycles
• Ability to interpret and implement business rules in a clinical or academic setting.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HL7 or other interface/integration technologies.
• Background in dental or healthcare IT systems (e.g., Epic Wisdom, Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
• Experience with data migration and reporting tools like Crystal Reports or Power BI.
