Description

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, installing, and troubleshooting network hardware and configurations. You will collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of networking solutions.

Responsibilities:
Perform on-site assessments of network infrastructure to determine installation and configuration needs.
Install and test preconfigured hardware, ensuring optimal functionality and compatibility.
Manage the installation of wiring, including CAT6 cables, and ensure all necessary hardware components are properly connected.
Collaborate with the organization's technical team during deployment to confirm setup accuracy and address any technical issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
Test and validate the functionality of network equipment, including routers, firewalls, and switches.
Document all work completed, including installation details, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the network's performance and reliability.
Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices for network installations.

Requirements

Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers.
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
In-depth knowledge of Cisco ASA devices.
Familiarity with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and its implementation.
Strong understanding of Cisco networking concepts and practices.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical teams effectively.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
