Job Objective
The Data Analytics Specialist plays a critical role in empowering stakeholders with actionable insights and data-driven support. This position is responsible for sourcing relevant information, applying robust analytical techniques, and transforming complex data into clear, meaningful outputs that align with business objectives.
Main Duties
Determining Requirements
- Identifies business requirements through examining requests and/or case tickets
- Determines the potential sources of data through exploring standard queries and existing available data tables
Gathering Data
- Runs data extraction procedures, including running SQL-based queries and downloading standard reports, to gather the raw data required for analysis
- Explores the multiple possible sources and gathers all required information to meet requirements
Data Preparation
- Establish links between various sources to combine available information into a cohesive data set
- Identifies errors and duplications from the data and provides recommendations on how to handle such occurrences
- Applies statistical methods to eliminate noise and cleanse large data sets
- Implement calculations to make data sets available for more advanced analytical processes
Data Analysis
- Performs standard qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to evaluate data
- Generates calculated outcomes from the available data
Presentation
- Organize findings into a standardized template to be presented to relevant customers
- Presents data through standard visualization techniques using Business Intelligence tools such as Sigma, Power BI, Oracle, and the like
Customer Engagement
- Communicates findings with the customer
- Explains methods of analysis to the customer where clarifications are required
Maintenance
- Affirms the accuracy of data for standard reports
- Identifies the requirement to update data connections and ensures that standard reports appear as expected
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree required
- IT, Statistics, and Industrial Engineering discipline course preferred
Work Experience or Training
- Requires at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in Continuous Improvement, Performance Reporting, or Operational Reporting
- Background in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Manufacturing is an added advantage
Skills Required
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience in using data visualization tools such as Sigma, Power BI, QuickBase, Oracle, and the like
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and Snowflake is an advantage
- Ability to evaluate the appropriate analytical procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Capable of communicating in verbal, written and presentation forms in English
- Mature, professional demeanor and proven ability to work well in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment
