Partnered with a client who is creating cutting-edge AI/ML products (Generative AI) that solve healthcare administrative burdens using conversational AI and their patented voice biomarker technology.

They're seeking a skilled Sr. Backend Engineer to help design, build, and maintain the infrastructure powering the conversational AI platform. In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team of AI experts, frontend engineers, and product managers to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient backend solutions tailored to the healthcare industry's unique needs.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain robust, scalable APIs and microservices to support conversational AI workflows.


• Optimize backend systems for high performance, reliability, and scalability.


• Ensure secure and compliant integration with healthcare systems (e.g. EHRs, scheduling systems) while adhering to industry standards like HIPAA and FHIR.


• Collaborate with the AI team to deploy and manage NLP models in production environments.


• Lead the design and implementation of database schemas and data pipelines for structured and unstructured healthcare data.


• Build CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and ensure high availability of backend services.


• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues, ensuring minimal downtime.


• Mentor junior developers and contribute to fostering a culture of technical excellence.


• Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying and implementing emerging technologies that drive innovation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of building secure and scalable systems.


• Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript/Node.js.


• Secondary proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java is plus to have!


• Expertise in RESTful API and GraphQL development.


• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and best practices.


• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.


• Strong database design and management skills (SQL and NoSQL) with platforms like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.


• In-depth knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and secure data handling.


• Proficiency in building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
