Title: SCADA System Administrator Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - 2-3 Days/Week) Interview Mode: 1-2 rounds, MS Teams as round one, possible onsite interview for round 2 Job Overview:
A leading utility provider located in NYC is seeking a skilled and experienced SCADA System Administrator for a long-term role. The System Administrator (SCADA) will be responsible for the design, programing, and implementation of the new SCADA system(s), as well as providing day-to-day operational support for the existing system(s). This role is responsible for utilizing and integrating the latest technologies, developments and trends in the Gas PLC and SCADA systems industry to enhance current operations. A successful candidate must have an in-depth working knowledge of SCADA fundamentals as they apply to the utility space. This role requires that the selected candidate maintain a strong working relationship with all management, supervisory, IT and operating staff in their designated area. Clear communications and close coordination with the energy control center is required to support both field and energy distribution operations.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in a small team environment.
- AVEVA Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS DNA) baseline platform experience.
- Availability to work hybrid schedule.
- Fluent in all aspects of SCADA System Operation including:
- Gas Measurement Metering
- Historical Database data interfaces and reporting
- HMI display development
- In-depth Knowledge of RTU/PLC protocol (Modbus, DNP3, BSAP).
- Realtime Database implementation.
- Troubleshoot SCADA software and server issues.
- Work closely with Field Technicians to configure, test, and troubleshoot data polling from the SCADA System to field RTUs.
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to interpret, modify and write scripts and SQL queries.
- Clear communications to enable close coordination with Gas Control operators to ensure the SCADA system is always providing them the ability to safely operate the pipeline.
- Control room experience.
- Experience in regulated operating environments.
- Experience with building, configuring, developing and maintaining reports.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity Principles.
- Knowledge of IT principles and Technology.
- Knowledge of related utility industry field operations.
- Process documentation development skills capture workflows, changes, change approvals, change submission.
- Programming of wireless modems (Sierra Wireless and Digi).
