Position: Workday HCM Consultant with Finance Exp
Location: Fremont, CA
Duration: Long term
Key Responsibilities:
Workday HCM Functional Responsibilities:
Lead configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday HCM modules such as Core HCM, Compensation, Talent, Absence, Time Tracking, and Benefits.
Work closely with HR and cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into Workday configurations and solutions.
Support Workday enhancements, releases, business process changes, and troubleshooting of production issues.
Conduct workshops, system demonstrations, and functional design documentation.
Manage EIBs, data loads, mass uploads, and HR data validations.
Assist with reporting needs: Workday Advanced Reports, Calculated Fields, Dashboards, and Discovery Boards.
Finance-Related Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Finance teams to understand upstream/downstream dependencies between HCM and Financials.
Ensure accurate integration and data flow between HCM, Payroll, and Financial Management modules.
Support configuration and validation for Costing Allocations, Payroll Accounting, Organizational hierarchies, and Financial reporting impacts.
Participate in projects involving HCM Finance alignment (e.g., Worker costing, position budgeting, ledger impacts).
Cross-Functional & Project Responsibilities:
Work with Integration teams on inbound/outbound interfaces related to HCM and Finance.
Provide testing support (unit, regression, UAT) for changes impacting HR and Finance workstreams.
Prepare training materials, end-user documentation, and deliver training sessions.
Assist in Workday roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
3 7 years of hands-on experience as a Workday HCM Functional Consultant.
Strong knowledge of Core HCM plus at least two additional modules.
Experience working on or with Workday Financials or Finance processes (e.g., payroll accounting, costing, budget planning, COA).
Proficiency in Workday configurations, business processes, security, calculated fields, and reporting.
Experience with EIB, mass data loads, and tenant configuration.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Workday certification(s) in HCM or relevant modules preferred.
