Job Title:Senior UX Designer (Figma, User Research, Accessibility Public Sector)

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 8 years of proven experience in User Experience (UX) Design, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating successful, user-friendly, consumer-facing solutions.
• Strong visual design and styling skills, including expertise in typography, spacing, and layout composition.
• Proficiency in Figma, with hands-on experience independently creating end-to-end design solutions.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, including mapping digital user journeys, creating low- to high-fidelity mockups, and developing interactive prototypes to enhance usability and accessibility.
• Ability to synthesize user research and data insights into actionable design hypotheses and innovative solutions.
• Skilled at receiving, interpreting, and incorporating feedback from cross-functional team members to refine designs.
• Experience collaborating with product and content strategists to translate requirements and outlines into effective design deliverables.
• Proven experience working closely with developers to test prototypes, perform visual quality assurance, and ensure final digital products align with intended design specifications.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Design, UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or Computer Science.
• Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams, collaborating with product managers, engineers, and content strategists to deliver user-centered products and services.
• Experience working in the public sector or in partnership with government organizations.
• Strong ability to lead design projects from concept through implementation, with in-depth knowledge of design and research methodologies.
• Experience conducting or supporting usability testing, with strong analytical skills to interpret user data and convert findings into actionable design recommendations.
• Familiarity with design systems, including extending and adapting components to meet user needs while maintaining technical feasibility.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices to ensure usability for all audiences.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in design practice, with experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders across organizational or community settings.
