Job Details

System One is seeking an IT Cybersecurity Specialist for a full-time, permanent onsite opportunity in Louisville, KY. The IT Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security measures to protect Information Technology assets and data (including Cloud services). The IT Specialist is entrusted with understanding security best practices, monitoring systems for security breaches, and responding to security incidents, as necessary. Additionally, you will be involved in implementing security controls, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and implementation of security solutions, including identity and access management, encryption, network security, and monitoring tools.
  • Monitor infrastructure for security threats and vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents in a timely manner. Conduct security assessments and audits of product/engineering environments to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into applications and services.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with industry standards (e.g., PCI, ISO 27001, NIST-CSF, CSA) and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI, HIPAA).
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and documentation across environments.
  • Stay up to date with emerging threats and security technologies in the cloud & non-cloud computing space and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of security tools and technologies for threat detection, prevention, and response. Provide support and guidance to development and operations teams on secure configuration and deployment practices.
  • Contribute to security awareness and training initiatives to educate employees on cloud security best practices.
  • Managing security endpoint configurations across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Support identity protection policy implementation across the agency.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and patch management workflows.
  • Configure and monitor DLP policies for data protection and data exfiltration.
  • Support device profiling and network segmentation initiatives within the agency.
  • Develop, implement, and manage cybersecurity incident plan for the agency.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years' experience supporting the design and implementation of security solutions, including IAM, email security, and monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies-including MFA, SharePoint security, and email protection.
  • Previous experience or coursework in cloud computing and security principles.
  • Familiarity with cloud service providers (Azure Preferred)
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Knowledge of encryption techniques, cryptographic protocols, and secure communication protocols.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or CCNP security certification are a plus.
  • Demonstrated passion for cybersecurity and a willingness to learn and adapt to modern technologies and methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a challenging environment.
