Strong understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs and how they're consumed by integrators
Demonstrated expertise in using GPT-based tools for content rewriting or content generation
Proficiency with Confluence and GitHub-based documentation workflows
Strong editorial skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to work independently while maintaining alignment through regular check-ins
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with OpenAPI/Stoplight specifications and with logging/observability tools
Experience supporting internal engineering or platform integration efforts
Exposure to developer onboarding processes or self-service enablement
Comfort working in asynchronous, distributed teams
Experience with Slack bot integrations or Slack-based automation platforms
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable API documentation specialist to help transform and standardize technical content into a scalable internal knowledge base. The project focuses on improving the quality and accessibility of API documentation that currently exists in various formats and locations, much of it written for internal developer audiences.
This role will work closely with engineering and developer relations stakeholders to identify relevant content, resolve documentation inconsistencies, and rewrite materials in a clear and consistent voice using Confluence and GPT tools. The successful candidate will help lay the foundation for self-service integration by building templates, organizing content by use case, and supporting the creation of complete integration guides.
Responsibilities
Audit and consolidate existing technical documentation for REST and GraphQL APIs
Migrate validated content into a newly structured Confluence knowledge base
Triage conflicting or duplicated materials with subject matter experts to define the authoritative version
Use GPT tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to rewrite and polish documentation for clarity and consistency
Create and apply templates for core documentation types, including:
API overviews ("What is it")
Usage instructions ("How to use it")
Integration guides with use cases and patterns
Test plan structures and policy references
Identify documentation gaps and coordinate lightly with engineers to fill them
Maintain regular check-ins with project lead to ensure alignment and track progress
