I am working with an established international leader in procurement analytics. They partner with some of the world's most recognizable brands in telecommunications, retail, and finance and are now looking for a Data Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will lead a team of data engineers, drive the migration of acquired businesses' on-premise solutions to AWS, and help design and build new features for their SaaS platform.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage and develop a team of 4-8 data engineers, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and career growth opportunities.

  • Lead the migration of acquired businesses' on-premises data systems and pipelines into AWS.

  • Build and scale cloud-native data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases.

  • Design and implement AWS-based data architecture patterns with a focus on quality, reliability, and performance.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to embed data capabilities into the core platform.

  • Define and enforce best practices for data engineering, including testing, code reviews, monitoring, and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with governance policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive decisions on data stack technologies, tooling, and infrastructure.

  • Track team delivery and performance metrics while fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

  • Support hiring and onboarding as the team expands.


Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of data engineering experience, with at least 2 years in people management.

  • Strong technical foundation with hands-on skills in SQL, Python, and data engineering practices.

  • Solid experience with AWS data services (Redshift, Glue, Lambda, S3).

  • Familiarity with modern data stack tools (dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks).

  • Knowledge of streaming services and real-time processing.

  • Experience with BI and data visualization tools.

  • Proven track record of leading projects to completion on time.

  • Hands-on experience migrating on-prem data systems to AWS (big plus).

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
