MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree. Five years of experience in the repair, troubleshooting, testing, installation and maintenance of voice, data and wireless communication equipment is required. A high school diploma or GED along iwth additional experience in the repair, troubleshooting, testing, installation and maintenance of voice, data and wireless communication equipment may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Must possess a valid driver license.

RECRUITMENT NOTES

Miami-Dade County Communications, Information & Technology Department (CITD) is recruiting a full-time IT Senior Telecommunications Technician that will be assigned to the Radio Shop of the Radio Communication Services Division. 

The Senior Telecommunication Technician position is crucial in providing the necessary support required for County radio business functions. The primary focus of the position is to repair, maintain and test the various radio subscriber equipment utilized within the county wide 700/800 MHz simulcast trunked P25 public safety radio systems.

Job components include testing and validating radio code plugs and personalities for both Motorola and Harris subscriber equiment in the publc safety an local government environments. Addiitonal responsibilities include repairing and maintaining portable and mobile two-way radio equipment to the component level, as well as mentoring and training others in advanced diagnostics and repair techniques. This position will assist in scheduling and balancing workloads and serve as a customer interface.

The work schedule for this position is from 7:30AM to 4:00PM Monday to Friday.
