SALARY:

$38.88 - $55.54 per hour

The QA Engineer Automated 3 is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications through automated testing processes. The role involves designing, developing, and executing robust automated test suites to identify defects, validate application functionality, and report testing metrics. Responsibilities

  • Write, execute, and create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases and test plans to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Develop and execute automated test cases to verify authentication processes, user permissions, and roles.
  • Leverage knowledge of software usability concepts and ensure alignment with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • Maintain and update requirements traceability to ensure complete coverage throughout the SDLC.
  • Work collaboratively within cross-functional scrum teams to deliver on-time software release sprints for projects, maintaining a focus on quality using tools like Jira and SharePoint.
  • Collaborate seamlessly within Agile and CI/CD environments to integrate comprehensive testing during rapid development iterations.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools, such as Jira, to systematize defect tracking and management by logging, categorizing, and prioritizing identified defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify, track, and manage defects to closure while communicating effectively with development teams and project managers.
  • Write and optimize database queries using SQL/PL-SQL functionality to support backend testing of database-driven applications.
  • Perform API testing using tools like Postman or similar, ensuring robustness and reliability in service integration.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including unit, integration, regression, smoke, user acceptance, system, stress, and performance testing.
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites using tools such as Unified Functional
  • Utilize code coverage tools and perform systems analysis and design to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards by employing accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies.
  • Conduct usability evaluations to ensure a seamless end-user experience.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including test plans, requirements traceability matrices, and test case records.
  • Develop accurate reports on testing metrics, defect counts, and project statuses for accountability and transparency.
  • Design and execute performance, stress, and regression testing to ensure application reliability across different platforms and configurations.
  • Effectively organize and present complex technical results in both written and verbal formats.
  • Foster a positive working environment by collaborating effectively with varied levels of staff and end users.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs, delivering consistent support across multiple projects.
  • Accurately log time while tracking project efforts and estimating changes or enhancements to ensure project deadlines and quality benchmarks are met.
  • Contribute to robust and scalable test automation strategies aligned with current development standards.
  • Other duties as assigned .


Qualifications

Here's What You Need
  • 8 years' experience in writing and executing test cases, as well as creating test plans.
  • 8 years' experience in software usability concepts and requirements traceability, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process
  • 8 years' experience in Xray Test Case management tool and Jira Project management tool
  • 8 years' strong experience in SQL query knowledge - Create, Read, Update, Delete
  • 8 years' experience in writing and executing tests automation using UFT
  • 8 years' experience in conducting API Testing and automation using Postman, SOAPUI, JMETER or similar
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Desired Qualifications:
  • 5 years' experience in Object-Oriented Programming preferred.
  • 5 years' experience utilizing accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards
  • 5 years' experience working with the State of Texas HHS agency and system preferred.

Reports to: Program Manager

Working Conditions
  • Professional hybrid office environment.
  • Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX.
  • 3 days remote with 2 days (Wednesday & Thursday) required to be onsite (subject to change).
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
