Position Summary:
As a key player in the Laboratory Products organization, you will lead ongoing efforts to improve equipment installation, design, and reliability. Demonstrating data-driven strategies, you will oversee multiple projects aimed at improving manufacturing and facilities equipment efficiency. This position supports operations at the forefront Mebane NC Manufacturing Center for Pipette Tip manufacturing.

Job Description
Position Summary:
As a key player in the Laboratory Products organization, you will lead ongoing efforts to improve equipment installation, design, and reliability. Demonstrating data-driven strategies, you will oversee multiple projects aimed at improving manufacturing and facilities equipment efficiency. This position supports operations at the forefront Mebane NC Manufacturing Center for Pipette Tip manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate capital expansion projects from budgeting through installation to production.
- Develop Validation Installation Qualification (IQ) protocols and reports.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to improve yield, efficiency, uptime, OEE, and safety.
- Manage equipment, tracking and improving critical reliability metrics.
- Apply statistical methodologies to analyze data and drive equipment and process improvements.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis & Countermeasures (RCCM) teams to identify true root causes and implement effective Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs).
- Implement reliability concepts such as condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
- Develop efficient spare parts rationale plans for machines and tools.
- Manage calibration programs for production and facilities equipment.
- Lead all aspects of complete asset lifecycle management for production and facilities equipment, including cost of ownership metrics.
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement Kaizens through PPI initiatives.
- Provide mechanical, electrical, networking, computer, coding, PLC, and troubleshooting support as needed.
- Develop and maintain documentation for preventative and reactive maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the Process Engineering team to drive yield and cycle time improvements.
- Lead and participate in Safety Risk Assessments.
- Provide training to equipment & maintenance technicians related to PM and troubleshooting OCAPs.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or related field preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably injection molding.
- 2+ years in a manufacturing, equipment, reliability, or process engineering role.
- Proficiency in applied statistics (SPC/DOE) and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, A3, and DMAIC in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks and projects.
- Willingness to work in both non-cleanroom and cleanroom environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, SAP, Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and CAD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in reliability engineering.
- 5+ years in a manufacturing, equipment, reliability, or process engineering role.
- Experience with plant utilities such as chillers, HVAC, and CDA.
- Experience in regulated environments (cGMP) such as Pharmaceutical, Food, or Medical Device is a plus.
