Azure Infrastructure Engineer- CAR MAX

LOCATION

• • This is mainly remote but must be local in Dallas or Richmond
  • Won t be onsite but need to be local for onsite meetings (50-60 miles away is ok)
  • Might come in 1st day to meet everyone, grab equipment

REQUIRED SKILLS

They just really need a heavy infrastructure person that has personally set up azure infra from scratch. Someone very senior I d imagine, but still very hands on.

Key Requirements Clarified

• Hands-on Azure Infrastructure: Candidates must have direct experience setting up Azure infrastructure not just working with pre-configured environments.
• Platform as a service experience is a must
• Automation & IaC: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation is essential.
• Team Role: Ideal candidates should have been part of the team responsible for creating infrastructure for other teams (e.g., data engineering, application teams).
• Need excellent communication
• Bicep or ARM templates
• Must say clearly in the resume that they themselves have set up infrastructure in azure. Not they worked with a team. They have had to do this themselves.

Suggested Pre-Screening Questions

• Have you been part of a team responsible for creating Azure infrastructure for other teams?
• Did you implement this infrastructure using automation or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools?

• What (client) doesn t want to see:
  • Don t need database experience
  • Stay away from data engineers as this person won t create ETL pipelines
  • With candidates, dig into data resources/functions, doesn t want to see just pure infrastructure or networking
