Project Description:

The QA Lead is responsible for leading QA strategy, planning, and oversight across the Program, which involves diverse work streams including Oracle, SAP, Clevest and Maximo.

This role should lead the development of structure, systems, and processes to guide and execute testing and working with onshore/offshore employee and system integrated teams and test resources across teams, locations, and functions, including functional teams, integration, and data.

This role has overall responsibility for guiding the objectives and outcomes of the day-to-day testing resources and ensuring that the QA function is adequately validating the desired functionality based on integrated workflows across projects.

 

Major Responsibilities:

Lead the QA functions within the program, including setting the QA strategy for the program

Manage team of test analysts, prioritizing and directing work, providing feedback, and ensuring quality deliverables

Work with scrum teams, architecture, program and project leadership, and internal and external test resources to ensure QA function meets objectives and is executed efficiently

Communicate to program and project leadership the status of QA and work to mitigate risks

Manage appropriate test environments and tools, including test automation tools, and/or recommend changes as appropriate

Work with infrastructure and cyber security teams to arrange the hardware and software requirements for the test setup

Ensure that test teams follow established test standards, guidelines, and methodology.

Recommend changes as appropriate; Advocate for the bugs/product changes that will help overall customer experience

Guide objectives and manage phase containment across different test phases including Unit Test, Functional QA, Systems Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, End-to-End, and Data testing

Manage constituent test teams’ work throughout test plan development and test execution to ensure that QA works within program timelines and budgets

Identifying and implementing test center capabilities that will integrate without effort with JIRA

Establish and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders to understand business objectives, anticipate demand and rapidly respond with working solutions

Develop an understanding of all integrated systems (such as Oracle, SAP, Maximo) that will be impacted by the implementation and develop strategy and plan for testing that will need to occur

Analyze requirements and aid in designing test plans, cases, and data sets to ensure solutions meet business goals, objectives, and functional/non-

Experience:

6+ years’ experience with testing and test leadership across multiple phases and types of testing, from planning through execution

Experience with defining, implementing, and maintaining project process guidance related to testing

Highly experienced writing test plans and test cases, and documenting software defects and anomalies

Ability to develop and manage all aspects of the testing effort, including plans, interdependencies, schedule, budget, tools, and required personnel

In-depth knowledge of the SDLC as well as various software testing methodologies

Experience with Agile Scrum delivery and Waterfall delivery frameworks

Experience with at least one of the following project and QA tools – JIRA, Team/SharePoint, Test Suites such as HP Quality Center, Zephyr, or Selenium

Experience with at least one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Java, JavaScript, Unix, XML)

Experience with configuration management / build management procedures

Exposure to a range of business applications-- SAP, Oracle, Maximo as well as working with both cloud and on-prem solutions, including legacy

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Preferred, but not required, knowledge and understanding of the utility industry
