Position Overview

Client is seeking an accomplished and hands-on Java Technical Lead to oversee end-to-end delivery for a key financial services client, a highly respected regional bank in Texas.

The successful candidate will bring 15+ years of progressive experience, proven leadership of large development teams including offshore coordination and strong knowledge in Java, cloud platforms, AI, and data engineering.

Experience in financial services or banking domains is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic technical leadership for a team of 30+ engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices, regulatory standards, and robust process controls.

Drive comprehensive Java architecture, design, and development, including microservices, APIs, cloud-native solutions, and data/AI integration for enterprise systems in the banking sector.

Directly lead in the design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and secure solutions, drawing on in-depth expertise in enterprise software delivery and financial technology.

Collaborate with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to clarify business requirements and translate them into actionable technical roadmaps that meet financial services priorities.

Manage, mentor, and develop team members both onshore and offshore, maintaining high standards of technical performance, productivity, and professional growth.

Guide agile delivery cycles, ensuring timely execution, compliance, and resolution of issues affecting quality or security.

Innovate by leveraging emerging trends in AI, data, and cloud to enhance technology solutions for the client.

Maintain comprehensive documentation and enforce consistent technical standards across projects.

Track the health through Delivery metrics.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

15+ years of experience in Java development, architecture, and delivery of large-scale enterprise solutions.

Demonstrated experience managing large onshore/offshore teams (30+ members), ideally within banking or financial services environments.

Deep expertise in Java, Spring, Microservices, Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), API design, and distributed systems.

Hands-on experience with AI/ML integration, data engineering, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.

Outstanding communication, organizational, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Must be able to work in-office in Dallas, five days per week.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in financial services, banking, or related regulatory domains.

Familiarity with event-driven architectures, security frameworks, and optimizing applications for low latency.
