Data Engineers (Mid-Level & Senior)

Location: Fort Worth, TX (1 day/week onsite Wednesdays)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation:

  • Mid-Level: Up to $120,000
  • Senior-Level: $135,000 $140,000
    Department: Data & Analytics

About the Roles

We re hiring two Data Engineers one mid-level and one senior to support new, fully funded data initiatives within the healthcare space. These are hands-on roles where you ll design and maintain cloud and on-prem data pipelines, collaborate cross-functionally, and help shape how data is ingested, modeled, and delivered across the organization. Help power high-impact healthcare data solutions that support leading-edge research and analytics initiatives. We re growing fast and need data engineers who thrive in collaborative environments, care about clean architecture, and are eager to make meaningful contributions.

What You ll Do

Core Responsibilities (Both Roles)

  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for analytics, dashboards, and reporting
  • Architect and support data ingestion, transformation, and storage systems
  • Collaborate with BI teams to translate business needs into data architecture
  • Ensure data integrity, lineage, and performance across hybrid data platforms
  • Integrate with modern data sources (APIs, real-time feeds, unstructured data)

Additional Senior Responsibilities

  • Lead data platform design and pipeline development across projects
  • Mentor junior engineers and enforce engineering standards
  • Champion automation, reusability, and scalability in pipeline architecture
  • Guide data engineering practices aligned to agile and DataOps methodologies
  • Provide architectural oversight for cloud-based data environments

Qualifications:

Mid-Level Data Engineer

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor s in Computer Science, MIS, or related field + 2 years of relevant experience
    • OR HS diploma/GED + 4 years in data engineering or equivalent roles
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling
    • Experience with ETL/ELT development and data integration
    • Familiar with cloud data tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory)
    • Exposure to Power BI/Tableau and a modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)
    • Epic certifications (Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito) are a strong plus

Senior Data Engineer

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor s degree + 5 years OR HS diploma/GED + 7 years in data roles
    • Minimum 5 years total IT experience
    • Prior work with healthcare or research data strongly preferred
  • Skills:
    • Advanced SQL, data pipeline design, and dimensional modeling
    • Experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, etc.)
    • Hands-on with ETL tools (SSIS, dbt, Fivetran, Informatica)
    • Skilled in coding (Python, Scala, Spark, etc.)
    • Able to lead architecture discussions and translate technical concepts for business partners
    • Epic and Microsoft certifications are highly desirable

Bonus Points

  • Epic certifications (Caboodle, Clarity Data Model, Cogito, etc.)
  • Microsoft or Snowflake certifications
  • Experience with healthcare applications, EHR data, or clinical research systems
  • Strong communication and mentorship skills
