Position Summary
As a Pressure Vessel Engineer, you ll design, analyte and oversee the fabrication, testing, maintenance of pressure vessels. and support the development of next-generation ruggedized HVAC, cooling, and thermal management systems. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring our products meet military, defense, and aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis of pressure vessel assemblies using engineering software like FEA t o determine optional design parameters.
- Create detailed drawings and specifications for pressure vessels, including components like nozzles, supports and closures.
- Review vendor drawings and fabrication plans to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Monitor welding processes and quality control procedures during pressure vessel construction.
- Calculate wall thicknesses, stress levels and pressure ratings to ensure structural integrity.
- Analyze pressure vessel performance data to identify potential issues and recommend maintenance strategies.
- Design and oversee repairs for damaged or worn-out pressure vessels.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials for pressure vessel construction based on pressure, temperature, corrosive environment, and desired properties.
- Coordinate pressure testing and non-destructive examination of pressure vessels to verify structural integrity.
- Prepare documentation for pressure vessel certification and regulatory approvals.
- Work closely with project engineers, manufacturing teams, quality inspectors, and clients to ensure project success.
- Provide technical support and expertise on pressure vessel related issues.
Who You Are
You re a results-driven, solutions-focused Pressure Vessel Engineer who thrives in a fast-moving, hands-on manufacturing environment. You re passionate about precision engineering, problem-solving, and making an impact in mission-critical industries.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in defense, aerospace, or high-tech industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, stress analysis, and material science.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other 3D modeling software.
- Knowledge of relevant pressure vessel codes (ASME BPVC, etc.)
- Experience with pressure vessel design, analysis, and fabrication processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical reporting skills.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and military quality standards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge in HVAC systems, thermal management, and complex mechanical assemblies.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma tools such as PFMEA, DOE, SPC, and Capability Analysis.
