About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Generative AI Intern to join our AI Engineering team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in developing, deploying, and managing machine learning models, along with a strong understanding of generative AI architectures and MLOps best practices. You ll work closely with our engineers and product teams to prototype, fine-tune, and operationalize cutting-edge AI models for real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, fine-tune, and deploy Generative AI models (e.g., LLMs, diffusion models, transformers) for various business use cases.
Manage end-to-end ML model lifecycle from experimentation and training to deployment and monitoring.
Design and implement APIs and integration pipelines to connect AI models with applications and workflows.
Leverage GPU-accelerated environments for model training and optimization.
Utilize cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable model deployment.
Implement MLOps pipelines for CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, and performance tracking.
Collaborate cross-functionally to test, evaluate, and refine AI solutions aligned with product goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience deploying and managing machine learning models in production.
Strong Python programming skills, including proficiency with libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
Demonstrated experience with API development (Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks).
In-depth knowledge of Generative AI architectures (transformers, diffusion models, LLM fine-tuning, etc.) and GPU systems.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience using MLOps frameworks such as MLflow, Kubeflow, DVC, or Vertex AI.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Must be based in the Chicago area and possess a valid driver s license for occasional client or site visits.

Preferred Qualifications

Coursework or hands-on projects in AI/ML, Data Engineering, or Computer Vision/NLP.
Prior experience contributing to open-source AI projects or Hackathons.
Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or vector database technologies (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS).
Strong interest in exploring agentic AI, RAG pipelines, and multimodal model integration.
