Located in Culver City, CA, our client is an innovative technology company innovating operational systems for the aviation and mobility industries. Focused on modernizing ground operations and logistics, they're leveraging AI-driven platforms and smart connected devices to streamline processes across passenger, cargo, and next-gen air mobility services. As they scale their real-time data infrastructure, they are looking for a versatile Software/Data Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about autonomy, real-world operational systems, and building robust, scalable data solutions in fast-paced environments. In this role, you will lead the development and management of high-volume, real-time data pipelines and infrastructure. Collaborating closely with both internal teams and external partners, you'll be responsible for designing reliable, efficient systems that support mission-critical operations. This is a hands-on infrastructure role with meaningful ownership and the chance to shape the data backbone of a transformative platform. Required Skills & Experience
  • 6+ years of data engineering experience (real-time systems a plus)
  • Experience with data pipelines (Kafka, Airflow, etc.) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Proficient in SQL/NoSQL databases and schema design
  • Backend development in Go or Python
  • Experience with APIs (REST, gRPC)

  • 30% Backend/API Development & Operational Support
Daily Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage real-time data ingestion, processing, and delivery pipeline
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions and scalable cloud-native services
  • Develop internal tools and APIs to support operational teams and downstream applications
  • Work closely with operational teams and third-party vendors to troubleshoot, optimize, and scale data solutions
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and data integrity through proactive testing and observability practices
  • Contribute to evolving the data architecture to meet growing operational demands and new use cases
