The Opportunity

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has a continuing requirement for Homeland Enterprise Information Technology Secure Services & Support (HEITS) for the continued operations and maintenance and evolution of the Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN) and the Classified Local Area Network (C-LAN).

As part of the Enterprise Applications team, the Senior Citrix Engineer role will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and securing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Netscaler/ADC, and Citrix Cloud systems. Candidate will be responsible for deployment and management of Virtual Apps and Desktops environments, Netscaler/ADC, and associated components. Support duties may include updating and supporting systems by tuning performance, implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot technical issues related to the Citrix environment.

Responsibilities
  • Leads design, performance-monitoring, tuning, scripting, upgrades and maintenance of production Citrix systems
  • Test, upgrade, and migrate virtual environments and components, while ensuring that change management and defined security protocols for all assigned systems are executed in accordance with DHS policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate your ability to troubleshoot applications within a Citrix environment, identifying and resolving issues to maintain a high level of performance and user experience.
  • Contribute as a subject matter technical expert for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops administration and maintenance/operations/troubleshooting and all elements related the application environment
  • Stay abreast of related technology and recommend future system enhancements, improving troubleshooting and reducing the manual tasks

Qualifications

Required:
  • An active TS/SCI clearance,
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must have a solid foundation in Citrix Virtual Apps and Virtual desktops from initial requirements gathering, testing, documentation, and installation through all troubleshooting aspects.
  • Experience in designing, deploying and supporting large-scale Citrix environments using Virtual Applications, Virtual Desktops, Provisioning Server (PVS) deployments, and management of on-premise controllers.
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills required
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Proactive, self-learner who is motivated & results-oriented with a positive, team-player attitude.

Desired:
  • Strong technical depth in Citrix virtual desktops, VMware, and Windows Operating Systems
  • 10+ years of experience in virtual desktop, performance engineering, systems engineering role
  • Detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks and heavy workloads efficiently
  • Experience in several of the following areas: Scripting, Powershell, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, Certificates (PKI), Application configurations
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, 802.1q tagging, routing protocols preferred.
  • Technical IT certifications or experience with the related technologies preferred - Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), Citrix Certified Advanced Administrator (CCAA), Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer (CCEE), Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA), Azure, AWS, VMware VCP-DCV

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$85,800 - $180,200
