About the Role
We are looking for a Mainframe Engineer to join our team supporting critical financial systems. In this role, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of mainframe-based applications and infrastructure. You'll work on initiatives that ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability across enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of mainframe applications and services.
- Participate in installation, upgrade, and deployment efforts for mainframe systems.
- Identify and implement improvements to system performance, availability, and service quality.
- Analyze technical challenges and recommend solutions aligned with business and technology goals.
- Ensure compliance with security, risk, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including internal stakeholders and technology partners.
- Document technical processes and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent (e.g., military, education, or training).
- Strong understanding of COBOL and experience programming on mainframe systems.
- 2+ years of experience with Assembler programming.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EZTRIEVE and REXX scripting.
- Working knowledge of DB2, VSAM, CICS, JCL, PROC, Endeavor, CA7, and MQ.
- Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, ServiceNow, and basic software testing practices.
