Flight Engineering Manager

Position Overview:
In this role, the ideal candidate will be motivated to foster effective relationships with a team of highly talented and capable engineers. You will guide and support them in making a substantial impact on the design, delivery, and maintenance of our exceptional products and services. Your leadership will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our customers and the millions of people who fly our airplanes every day.
The Propulsion Engines & Fuels organization is seeking to hire three managers to lead our specialized teams in the following areas:
Propulsion Safety & Airworthiness (SAW) Manager:
SAW Managers are discipline managers responsible for overseeing functional certification, safety, and security issues. In this role, you will lead a team that supports both Propulsion and Airplane Safety Engineering by providing safety advising, risk and statistical analysis, and compliance, integration, and data analytics. Your team will offer expertise in safety assessment approaches, review engine company risk assessments, perform numerical risk assessments to support product safety determinations, and assist with cross-model certification issues.
Propulsion Performance and Operability:
In this position, you will lead a team responsible for overseeing critical aspects of engine performance, operability, and certification for all Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) products. This team plays a vital role in various development, certification, safety, and fleet support activities across multiple commercial airplane programs. Key functions of this team include analyzing and simulating engine performance and operability, supporting engine and aircraft certification, developing and maintaining functional excellence and technical capability within engine analysis, and providing essential technical support for BCA's initiatives in engine efficiency and sustainability across our product family.
Engine Build-Up / Strut Build Up:
In this position, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for engineering and technical activities related to the design, qualification, installation, factory support, and customer support for engine and strut systems hardware for Boeing Commercial Aircraft. You will oversee the work statement, technical approaches, budget, and performance of the team, while also implementing Lean initiatives, driving process improvements, fostering employee development, managing technical relationships with suppliers, and ensuring the appropriate level of staffing.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA or Renton, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

- 5+ years of professional experience in the aerospace industry.
- Experience in management or lead engineer role on a project or team
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in commercial aircraft system design, analysis, and certification.
- Project management or similar experience planning, integrating, and executing project or program deliverables
- Propulsion, APU, or Fuel System engineering experience
- System integration, analysis, certification or similar airplane system integration experience
- Experience with regulatory compliance certification.
- Experience with product safety management practice and analysis
- Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
