Job Details
Job Title: Lab Administrator
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: 6+ Months
Duties: ** In Plano Office- On-site 100%.
Xoriant reasonably expects the pay rate for this position to be within the following range: $35.00/hour-$40.00/hour.
Responsibilities:
Typical job responsibilities will include:
- Implementation and management of Lab Automation utilizing Spirent Velocity platform.
- Architecture and Design of a secure Network environment for the lab.
- Automation script development using Python scripting, based on user requirements.
- Build and maintain a VMware ESXi environment using clusters, resource pools and shared
storage.
- Training and assisting users with lab systems, tools, and processes.
- Assisting users with building and provisioning virtual machine guests in Windows, Linux.
- Monitoring and maintaining lab network to ensure reliable operation.
- Designing and implementing tools to mitigate network outages.
- Creating dashboards and tools to monitor server and network environments.
- Updating and patching systems to maintain a secure operating environment.
- Implement LDAP/Active Directory for user authentication to lab services.
- Enable remote access to lab services for end users via SSL VPN and RDP/VNC/View Client.
- Maintaining and deploying network testing tools, such as TCP Replay, IXIA, and Spirent.
- Physical rack and stacking of new equipment in the lab.
- Physical cabling connection for lab infrastructure and customer replication requests
- Keeping the lab clean, organized, and presentable.
Skills:
- Good understanding of TCP/IP stack
- Deep understanding on Layer2 networking, (STP, LACP, MCLAG/VCP, vlan trunking etc)
- Understanding on Routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP etc)
- Advanced troubleshooting skills on network outages.
- Working experience on Firewalls is a plus.
- Handson experience on Cisco and Arista switches is a plus.
- Understanding of VMware networking (DvSwitches and standard switch) is a plus.
- knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server
infrastructure
- Windows and VMware administration experience.
- Scripting and automation skills, emphasis on Python.
- Knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, Dynamic Routing Protocols,
VLAN, SSH/SCP/SFTP, iSCSI, DNS, NFS, LDAP, SIFS, SMTP, SNMP.
- Experience with TCP Replay, IXIA, Breaking Point, Spirent Test Center, and Spirent Avalanche a
plus.
- Experience with TCL scripting a plus.
- Experience managing CENTOS, Ubuntu, or other Linux distributions.
Education:
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years' experience working as a Lab System Administrator.
