Top Global Tech Company Seeking Design systems designer for high visibility foundational team
Fully remote in the US
Overview
This role focuses on shaping the visual and functional design language for next-generation wearable products through robust design system development. The individual will contribute to the creation, maintenance, and evolution of reusable components and patterns, primarily in Figma, and support cross-functional teams in applying these systems across devices such as smart glasses and watches. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, process-driven, and thrives in fast-paced environments with minimal hierarchy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute a comprehensive Figma component library
  • Create and revise component files with detailed design specifications
  • Author and update documentation for design system usage
  • Support product designers in exploring component variants and templates
  • Maintain templates for key product screens and flows
  • Facilitate task tracking and handoff processes between design and engineering
  • Troubleshoot design file issues including layer structure and organization
  • Provide guidance in feedback forums and design reviews
  • Conduct design audits across platforms (iOS, Android, Web)

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant design experience
  • Proven expertise in design system development and stewardship
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma
  • Strong attention to detail and process orientation
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Familiarity with file management/versioning tools (Dropbox, Google Drive, GitHub)
  • Experience training others and scaling design knowledge across teams
  • Proficiency in Apple Keynote and Google Slides
  • Experience designing for native platforms (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows) and web (mobile and desktop)
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated prototyping skills
  • Prior experience building and scaling a design system
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to gain consensus
  • Ability to advocate for design systems and foster cross-functional partnerships

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
