Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.

Job Summary

The Sr. Software Engineer- EPMO position is a direct report to the EPMO Operations Manager. The role is responsible for EPMO systems and how they align with IT user needs. The Engineer documents requirements, establishes scope, establishes objectives and determines strategy for implementing IT systems to achieve business goals. The role partners with IT business functions to understand operations, reliability, business value and technical requirements and align them with IT functional and non-functional business requirements.

The Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of Smartsheet solutions for PSEG. The ideal candidate will have experience with Smartsheet, as well as strong programming and analytical skills.

Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement Smartsheet solutions to meet the needs of PSEG
Working with IT staff and management, and vendors to plan, design, build, implement, and support new and existing Smartsheet solutions.
Interface with other areas of IT for engineering and infrastructure support
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the environment.
Ensure Quality Control and Assurance procedures are consistent with Infrastructure specifications, client requirements and corporate policies.
Perform reviews and/or Root Cause Analysis on production systems failures, formulate corrective action plans, ensure corrective actions are implemented, and track their effectiveness.
Requires working in a 24x7 environment with callout
Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions
Test and debug Smartsheet solutions
Provide training and support to users of Smartsheet solutions
Stay up to date on the latest Smartsheet features and functionality
Work with other IT team members to integrate Smartsheet solutions with other systems
Own functional specifications and serve as a functional expert with a deep understanding of IT business needs regarding product/system capabilities to develop business requirements, perform quality assurance and support
Provide Smartsheet product expertise in regard to functional needs and processes, to include working with the product support team to resolve product integration issues
Perform as a key member of EPMO team to ensure customer needs are met throughout the planning, design, configuration, integration, testing and production acceptance of all stages of product development
Partner with Project Managers, the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), System Integrators and Product Vendors to help develop Business Requirements Documents and Requirements Traceability Matrices aligned with IT customer needs
Align and support with strategic direction of broader IT organization. Contribute to the strategic vision/plans and identify product enhancements that improve customer experience and simplify current landscape
Assist the EPMO to develop business cases, roadmaps and cost-benefit analysis of new operational technologies.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related technical field.
A minimum of 6 years of experience within the IT field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.
Demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology principles including Infrastructure support, system administration, and application support and/or application development techniques.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and make recommendations using critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision making processes and techniques in a fast-paced, mixed technology environment
Demonstrated ability to create both technical and non-technical end-user documentation
Must be detail oriented and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, leadership, and all levels of staff.

Desired Qualifications:
Ability to troubleshoot and make recommendations using critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision making processes and techniques in a fast-paced, mixed technology environment
Experience with Operational Technologies and/or Utilities
Understanding of cloud technologies and IT/Business processes
Excellent teamwork, facilitation, problem solving and relationship building skills
Proactively identify key features, capabilities and areas of improvements needed within the products
3+ years of experience with Smartsheet
2+ years of experience with Smartsheet functional areas like control center, workspaces, power apps, sheets, reports, dashboards, etc.
1+ years of experience as a Smartsheet Platform Administrator, Specialist and/or developer.
