Position Overview

Wells Fargo is seeking two Experience User Research and Product Design Specialists to support the Lending Journey Mapping initiative within our Design Research & Strategy team. In this role, you will lead and participate in moderately complex initiatives that enhance our understanding of customer experiences and inform the design of digital products and services. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and developers to ensure user needs and insights are embedded throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to user research and experience design initiatives supporting large-scale digital product efforts.
  • Plan and execute research using methods such as user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and observational studies to capture both qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Synthesize research findings to uncover user needs, behaviors, motivations, and pain points.
  • Translate insights into personas, journey maps, and actionable recommendations that inform design and business decisions.
  • Partner with designers, developers, and product managers to integrate research insights into design processes and ensure user needs drive product strategy.
  • Communicate findings effectively through presentations, visual storytelling, and reports that influence key stakeholders.
  • Foster a user-centered culture within product and design teams by advocating for evidence-based decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Experience Design, UX Research, Design Strategy, Product Design, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to design and implement UX research strategies using a range of methodologies.
  • Background in communications, human factors, information sciences, or visual arts (or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, or military experience).
  • Strong communication and analytical skills with experience converting research data into actionable insights.

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years working in an Agile (Scrum) environment, applying iterative design and research practices.
  • Experience within highly regulated industries (e.g., banking, insurance, or healthcare).
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
